Candor Finance

ChatGPT plugin

Your budget and money goals

View in ChatGPT directory

Tell ChatGPT what you want with your money, like paying off the cards, buying a home, or working four days a week, even if you haven't worked it out yet. With Candor, ChatGPT works from your real bank, card, loan, and investment accounts and sets up the plan with you: goals with a target, a date, and a monthly amount, a budget that pays for them, and every charge in the right category.

Then it keeps you on it. Every week Candor reviews your spending, bills, debt, savings, and investments, finds what's worth talking through, and tells ChatGPT why, like a goal slipping, a bill that went up, a refund that never arrived, or cash earning too little.

Ask where your money goes each month, whether you can afford a move, or what changed since last week. ChatGPT can show cash flow, spending, budget, and goal charts in the conversation, keep transactions in the right categories, catch duplicate charges and price increases, and remember what to check on and when.

Every figure is computed from your records. Your goals, budget, decisions, and the reasons behind them stay saved in Candor across conversations, and you can see each change ChatGPT made and why. Your data is not sold or used to train models.

Requires a Candor account. You connect US bank, card, loan, and investment accounts on Candor's website, and access to them is read-only. Candor does not transfer money or execute trades.

Example prompts

  • “Help me pay off my credit cards.”
  • “Where does my money go each month?”
  • “What should I know about my money this week?”

Skills

  • candor-add-records

Adds financial records the bank connection does not supply to Candor: statements, CSV exports, screenshots of balances or holdings, manual accounts such as cash or an account elsewhere, single transactions, card or loan terms from a statement, and property values. Checks each import against the source before and after it lands, and can undo it. Use when the person shares a statement, file, or screenshot, says an account is missing, wants to add cash or a manual account, or wants to track a home or rental property.

  • candor-budget

Shows where the person's money goes from their real records and saves a budget they can hold to, built from what they actually spend and fit to what they say, then keeps it current. Use when the person asks where their money goes, what they spend each month, how much they can save, why they are over this month, or wants a budget, a spending plan, or to change a budget line. For saving toward a specific goal, use candor-plan-a-goal.

  • candor-finance

Opens the person's Candor workspace, says where their money stands, and routes to the right Candor workflow. Use when the person asks about their money, spending, balances, bills, debts, goals, or plans and no more specific Candor skill fits, including a quick question about a balance, a bill, or a charge, or a life decision that costs or earns money even when money is not named.

  • candor-find-money

Finds money the person is losing or is owed, gets it back with their okay, and has Candor watch the records until it lands. Use when they ask "am I overpaying?", spot a double charge, a fee, a refund or reimbursement that never came, a charge after cancelling, a bill that went up, a subscription they forgot, a free trial about to bill, or a paycheck that is late, short, or missing. For which charges repeat or how they are categorized, use candor-sort-transactions.

  • candor-full-checkup

Runs an adviser-style review of the person's whole financial life from their Candor records, covering spending leaks, debt and credit, cash and reserves, goals and budget, investments and retirement, benefits, and insurance, and ends with the one to three things most worth doing. Use when the person asks to review their finances, for a financial checkup or annual review, what they should focus on or what to fix first, or after a life event. For a weekly what-changed check or a quick how-am-I-doing, use candor-weekly-check-in.

  • candor-get-started

Runs the first conversation after the person connects Candor: a first look at their money from the real records, what is worth a closer look, and what they want, saved in their words, so the next conversation starts from a plan. Use when Candor was just connected or installed, when the person says set up, get started, take a look, or what can you do with my money, or when the workspace has records but no goals or notes yet.

  • candor-plan-a-goal

Turns what the person wants from their money into a plan Candor tracks: goals with a measure, a pace, and a next step, plus the budget that pays for them, with a straight answer on what works and what does not yet. Use when the person wants to pay off debt, save for something, build an emergency fund, buy a home or car, work less, take time off, help family, or asks whether they can afford something, even when the goal is vague or has no numbers yet.

  • candor-sort-transactions

Makes the person's records read right: fixes categories, splits mixed purchases, writes rules so a merchant always means the same thing, tags money a goal tracks, and curates which charges repeat. Use when the person says a category is wrong, asks to clean up or organize transactions, explains what a merchant is, wants a side business or trip tracked, or asks to tidy subscriptions and bills on the recurring list. For price increases or stopping a charge, use candor-find-money.

  • candor-tax-prep

Gathers a tax year's records into a packet for the person's preparer or tax software: candidate records grouped and tagged, gaps and missing receipts listed, and the questions a preparer will ask. Use when the person says "get my taxes ready", "what can I deduct", "pull my business expenses", "charitable donations", "medical expenses", "1099 income", or asks what their accountant needs. It organizes records and never decides what is deductible.

  • candor-weekly-check-in

Runs a returning check-in on the person's money: what changed since last time, how each goal moved, notes and watches that came due, and each area Candor's weekly review raised, looked into and recorded. Also sets up recurring check-ins on hosts that can schedule them. Use when the person comes back, asks what changed, how they are doing, how things are going, or what this week's review raised, or asks for a weekly or regular money check-in.
