Configure Memory

ChatGPT plugin

Memory you own across AI apps

View in ChatGPT directory

Configure Memory keeps the preferences, projects, decisions and facts you choose in one profile you own, so the assistants you connect can use them and you don't have to repeat yourself.

Ask ChatGPT to remember something, save a short list of facts at once, or delete a memory it saved. Ask to see the list first if you want to review it, and each save is confirmed in the chat. Configure receives only the facts you ask ChatGPT to send.

For personalized help, ChatGPT searches the facts you saved. Review, edit or delete any memory, or disconnect ChatGPT, from your account at configure.dev.

Example prompts

  • “Remember that I use TypeScript for all new services.”
  • “What do you know about me from my Configure profile?”
  • “Save these to my Configure profile: I ship with pnpm, I'm rebuilding our onboarding flow, and I prefer short answers.”

Skills

  • configure-memory

Use the user's Configure profile: the preferences, facts, projects, decisions and goals they chose to keep, such as how they like things written, what they are working on, what they avoid, where they are and what tools they use. Use it when they ask what you know about them, tell you to remember, save, keep, note, update or forget something, ask about what they have saved, or ask for work that would be wrong without a preference they have saved - writing in their voice, or choosing a tool they have a rule about. A saved preference is looked up rather than guessed at or asked for twice. Not on every message, and never for a passing mention.
