Mailbox MCP
ChatGPT pluginRead, send and file your email
Mailbox MCP connects ChatGPT to the email account you already have: Outlook and Microsoft 365, personal Outlook.com, Hotmail and Live, Gmail and Google Workspace, iCloud Mail, Yahoo Mail, Fastmail, Zoho, GMX, or any IMAP mailbox on your own domain. Nothing is migrated and no copy of your mail is kept.
Looking for a way to connect ChatGPT to Outlook or Hotmail? This is it. Outlook is a program; your mail lives in the mailbox behind it. Mailbox MCP connects to that mailbox directly, on the server, so it works whether or not Outlook is installed or running, from any device.
Ask what has come in and get the senders, subjects and first line of every message in one answer, or ask who is still waiting on a reply from you and which of your own emails nobody has answered. Search across folders, read a message or a whole thread without marking anything as read, send, reply and forward as yourself or any alias, save a draft as a real threaded reply for you to check first, and file, flag, archive or clear out mail the way your own mail client does.
Files travel with the message wherever they start. An image ChatGPT has just made, a document it wrote, or a file you dropped into the chat can go onto a send, a reply, a forward or a draft directly. So can a file already in your mailbox, a web link, or a file from your own computer through a private upload link, up to 20 MB a message. It reads inside attachments too: an invoice total, a spreadsheet, a scanned letter.
It can tell you whether an email arrived: whether a message bounced and whether that failure was permanent, whether a delivery or read confirmation came back, and whether the SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX records for your own domain are in order.
Contacts and calendar come too, where your provider offers them: Outlook contacts, Google contacts or any CardDAV address book, and Microsoft 365, Google Calendar or CalDAV calendars. Find a person and their postal address, see who is free, book and move meetings, and set your out-of-office. Which tools appear is measured against your own servers when you connect, so you are never offered one they could not honour.
Routines put it on a schedule: a morning brief, replies drafted for the people waiting on you, the emails nobody has answered, or the bills that arrived. Choose one on your mailbox's Routines tab and add it to ChatGPT as a scheduled task; its card shows when it last ran.
Every connection carries a permission level you choose: read only, draft and file, or send and delete. A shared mailbox can be worked by a team: claim a message so colleagues see who has it, hand one to a named person, or hold a draft for the owner's approval before it is sent.
It leaves the mailbox as you would have left it yourself. Replies carry the threading headers, so they nest inside the conversation. Reading a message does not mark it as read. Exactly one copy of anything sent is filed in Sent. Deleting moves mail to Trash, and moving a message keeps its flags and its original date. Mail, calendar and contact content passes through the server in memory and is never stored.
Actions that send, delete or replace something are labelled as such, and it refuses rather than guesses: it will not delete a folder that still holds messages, and it stops to ask before replying to an address that differs from the visible sender.
